EEF Good business practice review
Companies in the region are set to take part in research to identify what makes good business practices in the Modern manufacturing Workplace.
EEF have conducted the research, which will eventually be passed on to government, in an attempt to develop a more effective approach to business regulation, as well as identifying ways that businesses can create a more successful workforce.
Current regulations impose stringent regulations upon employers, which have often proved to be unpopular. This research will help the government to improve its employment policies allow businesses to develop more freely.
According to Tony Sarginson from EEF:
“An important lesson for government is the need to give businesses the breathing space to develop their own solutions to these issues, rather than imposing bureaucratic and inflexible approaches on them.”
In the short term, the Red Tape Challenge website will allow businesses to engage with the government to challenge existing regulations. During this three-month period, individuals will be able to comment on economy wide issues, as well as how regulation specifically reflects the manufacturing industry.
