International Trade Delegation set to help Green export market
A special event next week will give green businesses in the region the opportunity to explore the exports market.
UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) will be coming to Durham with an international delegation of businesses, buyers and commercial officers to give local companies the chance to show off their products.
The international buyers come from a diverse range of industries, including environmental engineering, energy efficiency and green building, are all keen to develop links with companies in the UK.
Low carbon environmental goods and services are already a booming market in the UK, and are now worth £112billion. By getting involved in the global market, which is worth more than £3.2 trillion, North East businesses will not only benefit themselves, but will help to encourage further growth in this booming sector.
David Coppock, UKTI Trade Director for the North East said: “The business world is changing: low carbon is the new driver and as an emerging international hub for low carbon expertise and innovation, the UK is already helping many global businesses to shift to a low carbon future through smarter, more sustainable solutions.
“The visiting buyers have been chosen as they are in a position to develop strong business links with UK companies with capabilities in these sectors and this could be the perfect opportunity for innovative SMEs looking to increase their export potential.”
