New Chief Exec appointed at Percy Hedley Foundation
A new Chief Executive has been appointed at the Percy Hedley Foundation.
Carole Harder will take up the post in September after the retirement of current director Dr Tony Best. For much of her career Carole has worked in the NHS, most recently ads Director of Community Services for Durham and Darlington PCT.
As well as being a qualified teacher, Carole also has an MBA and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Through her work she has experienced operational management and organisational development whilst also maintaining a focus on the needs of the people using the service.
Carole said: “I am delighted to be joining the Foundation at such a crucial time and relish the challenge of leading the organisation to greater success as it enters the next stage of its journey.
“It will be a privilege to be the CEO of an organisation which is recognised nationally and internationally as leading the way in the provision of specialist high quality services for disabled people.”
Her appointment will allow the foundation to continue its positive work in the region to support the needs of disabled people in the region. Currently the charity employs over 550 staff and supports over 1000 disabled children, young people, adults and their families.
Chair of Trustees Nick Swales said, “It gives me great pleasure to announce Carole’s appointment to the position of Chief Executive.
Carole has a track record of strong leadership, innovation in service delivery and effective partnership working; skills that will support the Foundation as we continue to develop and deliver innovative and specialist services to meet the needs of disabled children, young people, adults and their families.“
