British Chamber of Commerce names new President
The British Chamber of Commerce has announced the appointment of its new President, Martyn Pellew.
Mr Pellew comes to the role with more than a decade of involvement with the NECC, over which he presided between 2009 and 2011. He was also Group development Director of PD Ports in Middlesbrough between 2002 and 2010.
Having also worked across a range of marketing, IT and communications businesses, he is well placed to make a significant contribution to the BCC’s national and European work.
Commenting on his appointment as BCC President, Martyn Pellew said: “The British Chamber of Commerce is truly a leading voice in business, and I am delighted to be appointed President.
“I look forward to driving the organisation forward, and to continuing the BCC’s strong campaign to encourage enterprise and business growth.”
Outgoing President Neville Reyner CBE DL added: “As President, I have worked together with the Director General, David Frost, to deliver an agenda for change. I am pleased that our success means the BCC is now one of the most influential business organisations in the corridors of power of Westminster, Whitehall and Brussels.
“I am confident Martyn’s wide business experience and long involvement with Chambers of Commerce, especially in the North East of England, will ensure the continued success of the BCC. In my firm opinion, there is no better time for companies to join their local Chamber.”
