City of Sunderland College apprenticeship deadline approaches
City of Sunderland College is offering businesses in the region previously unable to afford apprenticeships scheme the chance to apply for grants to help train young people in the workplace.
The scheme will allow companies with fewer than 250 employees to apply for funding of up to £2,500. Firms already looking to engage with the scheme include customer service, call centres, IT and business administration.
It is hoped that the grants will encourage firms to create new positions to help unemployed individuals into work.
Dave Hall, Director of Work-Based Learning at the College said: “We are thrilled to be able to offer additional support to companies who may not have had the monies available to benefit from the value that an Apprenticeship scheme can bring to an organisation.
“Once in place, our team will ensure the Apprentice is equipped with high quality, nationally-recognised qualifications as well as support throughout the placement to maximise the value both parties receive from the experience.”
The deadline to apply for funding is on the 31 August, so firms looking to apply should do so by then.
