Business bus comes to Sunderland
Entreprise initiative Startup Britain is coming to Sunderland as part of a UK wide tour aimed at celebrating start-ups and encouraging people to grow their businesses.
The initiative, launched in March this year with the goal of inspiring entrepreneurialism, will also see the bus visiting schools and universities.Business advice, mentoring, and speed networking sessions will be on offer at the event.
Emma Jones, co-founder and interim chief executive of StartUp Britain, said:
“We will be meeting with students and helping them turn ideas into ventures and we’ll be visiting employees moving from employment into self-employment. I look forward to welcoming hundreds of start-ups and small businesses on board”
Business experts from small and large businesses will be present, including representatives from AXA, Barclays, Dell, Intel, Intuit, Microsoft, MITIE and PayPal.
The campaign also hopes to raise awareness of existing online business support.
Di Mayze, founder of start-up business BuggyTug and a local ambassador of StartUp Britain, said:
“Working by yourself at home, like I and many other start-ups do, can be quite lonely, and it’s brilliant to not only bring start-ups together, but more importantly offer them much needed support and advice.”
