University launches Enterprise Club
A new club for unemployed people who are thinking about starting their own business or becoming self employed is set to hold meetings at Sunderland University.
The Enterprise club will provided unemployed Wearsiders with a forum where they can meet to exchange ideas and receive expert advice and support from local business people.
With support from Jobcentre Plus, the university aims to use its experience in supporting graduate start ups and offer this up to local people.
University Business Development Manager, Vince Robson said: “In bringing together like minded people, who have travelled along different career paths and are looking for a fresh challenge.
“The club will provide an environment where people can help each other to develop new business related skills and will support new business creation in the city.”
The club will run fortnightly and the first meeting commences on Monday September 12 at 9.30am in the university’s Business Gateway, based in the Edinburgh Building on the City Campus.
