New apprentice scheme for Northumberland
Bernicia has launched a new apprentice scheme in Northumberland in a bid to build strong sustainable communities in the area.
The social housing provider will now offer a range of apprenticeship schemes, including business, administration and customer service roles, as well as traditional trade schemes.
The commencement of the scheme will tie in with the company’s move to a new purpose built office and depot on the Ashwood Business Park in Ashington
Bernicia chief executive Bill Heads commented: “Our investment in a local area doesn’t stop at providing housing. It is vital to engage with the community and to encourage others to do the same.
“By offering opportunities like the Bernicia Apprenticeship Programme we are showing people that they do have choices and we want them to become part of what we are doing as a business.”
Bernicia owns and manages over 19,000 properties across the North East, and have invested heaving in building new homes and investing in current housing stock. Over the next year £35 million will be invested in improvement works and the construction of a further 230 new properties.
