Malcolm Gallagher: “Planning for growth now is vital?

Businesses in the North-East may lose out as the economy recovers through the lack of a growth strategy claims a leading business coach.

“My experience in working across the UK is that my home region, the North east, is not active enough in planning to move forward”, says Malcolm Gallagher of Northumberland-based, BizVision, “There is too much embracing of gloom in the area and too few venturing south of Scotch Corner for business,” he continued.

Mr Gallagher went on to say that businesses from outside the region are viewing the North East as lagging behind and its firms losing vitality. The danger he added was that recovery is imminent with evidence such as investor angels re-entering the market bringing confidence.

“Leaders of our businesses, especially small and medium sized, need to be aware that recovery is just round the corner and planning for growth now is vital if they are to seize the moment” continued Mr Gallagher” There are some good support initiatives around to help firms develop a sustainable growth strategy and I urge them to start thinking positively about the future”, he added.

Malcolm Gallagher will present his keynote “Grow 2012 – strategies and tactics to win” at the NBSL sponsored Leadership and Management conference at Newcastle United football ground on 28th November. Details of “growth support” for local businesses will also be outlined.

Sylvia Grainger, NBSL’s Director of Programmes said “We are really excited about this event, we are lucky to secure Malcolm, he is an inspirational speaker with a wealth of knowledge in this area”.
