UK e-invoicing platform to support EU trade
Tradeshift, the business-to-business social network has been selected by French agency ADETEF to help build its stake in a new e-invoicing and e-procurement platform.
The PEPPOL initiative aims to become the universal standard for European states, creating one shared infrastructure for all transactions processed by EU governmental bodies.
A handful of French government departments, will initially use Tradeshift to connect with suppliers and manage all invoicing electronically.
The first institutions to use Tradeshift as part of PEPPOL will include the Ministry of Finance and the Aube County.
A target has been set to connect with 30,000 suppliers in the first 6 months, and a so far adoption rates of Tradeshift among suppliers has been high as the platform offers time and money saving features.
Connectivity capabilities with the current French ministerial system, Chorus, has also ensured seamless integration.
Mikkel Hippe Brun, chief strategy officer at Tradeshift, and a former technical director of the PEPPOL project, said: “Interoperability is crucial to the success of the PEPPOL initiative.
“With it’s incredibly low barriers to adoption, Tradeshift finally puts in place a critical part of the jigsaw that points towards a more integrated future.”
Since launching in May 2010, the company has more than 60,000 companies across 190 countries using the platform.
These organisations include the UK National Health Services, Kuehne and Nagel and DT Group.
