Apex celebrate Humberside schools contract

A Durham based firm has won the contract to supply modular wiring system for two new schools in Humberside.

The contract will see Apex Wiring Solutions providing pre-wired distribution boards, pluggable lighting and power products for the Northern Academy and Andrew Marvell Business and Enterprise College.

Both establishments are part of the Hull Building Schools for the Future programme, which is a £465 million public-private partnership delivered by infrastructure firm Morgan Sindall. The initiative will provide new educational facilities as part of a city-wide social and economic regeneration initiative.

The new system, which will include new lighting and power systems, will help to cut installation times and waste for the schools.

Apex is very experienced in this field, having supplied wiring products to over 50 PFI and ProCure 21 schemes, including the new Royal London and St Bart’s hospitals in London.

Overseeing the mechanical and electrical engineering work is Shepherd Engineering Services (SES), whose national pre-construction director Jim Marner said: “We are intent on improving efficiencies, driving out waste and most importantly adding long term value to our clients. After very close scrutiny, the Apex modular wiring system ticked all of these boxes.

“Apex’s modular wiring is a superb build methodology that we will continue to design and install into our projects.”
