Newcastle United Foundation charity host ‘ZorbBall’ tournament

The Newcastle United foundation are hosting the North East’s first Zorb football tournament on Friday the 20th April at Complete Football, Gosforth.

This unique twist on a normal corporate tournament will see 16 teams of between 5 and 7 battle it out whilst raising money for the Newcastle United foundation.

ZorbBall is fun, energetic and a completely safe alternative to regular 5 a ‘side football. Players run, roll, collide and bounce up off the pitch. The day will include a free lunch; a silent raffle with money can’t buy prizes. A challenge to test the power of your shot as used by the Newcastle United first team and a golf simulator with closest the hole and longest drive competitions.

With more activities to be added to the afternoon it is sure to be an event not to miss as the Newcastle United foundation makes corporate events fun and interactive.

The event is being organised by Northumbria University students and all proceeds go to the Newcastle United foundations community projects which last year included coaching 16,000 people last year. The foundation also worked with 196 primary, middle and secondary schools across the North East not only in sport but also with enterprise skills helping young, unemployed people gain the skills, confidence and experience to get into work.

The ZorbBall event is running at a cost of £40pp for the entire afternoon’s activities.

To enter a team of 5-7 and tests your Zorb football skills or to enquire about sponsorship opportunities for the event contact: Jamey.bashford@northumbria.ac.uk or call 07932371099.
