Government must offer more support to SMEs
The Government has come under fire from UK businesses, after the Foreign Secretary told bosses to ‘work harder’.
Responding to William Hague’s comments, Will Davies, co-founder of aspect.co.uk a London-based Property Maintenance and Refurbishment Company said: “For the last few years bosses of SME’s have been working harder than ever to keep their businesses expanding in tough times but they are not getting the support they need from government policies.
“Most bosses of SME’s have invested their life’s work in their businesses and they are doing everything within their power to keep their companies afloat. They are not getting the support they need from government policy.”
He is now calling on the Government to ensure that SMEs have all necessary funding and a fiscal environment which supports growth, as this is the only way they will e able to fully support the economy.
Mr Davies also believes that British business also needs to ‘re-orientate’ itself, and find new export markets in expanding economies including India, Thailand and Indonesia.
He continued: “They (bosses) should be getting on with the task of creating more of those jobs and more of those exports, rather than complaining about it.
“It’s all very well to tell people to find new markets but the government needs to support business with sensible policies that support their hard work.”
