John Paul Academy Joins Fundraising for Wee Oscar
• School Children And Celtic WAGS Ride To Celtic Park To Raise Money For Oscar Knox Appeal
Glasgow, Scotland – 16th October 2012 – WeeOscar4Life, a campaign set up to raise money for the Oscar Knox Appeal, has today announced its support for the caring school children from the John Paul Academy in Summerston Glasgow, along with famous faces from the Celtic Family, who will be riding to raise money for the Oscar Knox Appeal. The big hearted group will be riding from the John Paul Academy to Celtic Park tomorrow, 17th October and collecting sponsorship money for Wee Oscar as he battles his neuroblastoma in the US.
Neil Lennon’s partner Irene and Lucy Parmenter, partner of Gary Hooper were so touched by the children’s kindness that they have decided to ride with the children tomorrow too. The WeeOscar4Life campaign’s patron, Lisa Hague, partner of Kris Commons, will meet the group as they arrive at Celtic Park at around 11.30am tomorrow. Due to pregnancy, Lisa is unable to partake in the ride but is looking forward to meeting the children when they finish: “We’re delighted to support the kids from the John Paul Academy in their fundraising for Wee Oscar; they’ve already raised over £1000.00 and are wonderful ambassadors for their school. Their parents should be very proud! Given the heartbreaking news of how ill Wee Oscar has been over the past few days, it’s now even more crucial that we continue to raise as much money as possible for his appeal.”
