East Riding of Yorkshire Council Celebrate IiP Gold

East Riding of Yorkshire Council are celebrating after recently achieving Investors in People Gold accreditation.

Their achievement was also acknowledged at their annual Managers Conference held in November, where some 200 managers met at The Spa Bridlington.

The theme of the conference was Business Transformation but was given a gold flavour with gold balloons, projected images of the gold certificate and also quotes from their Investors in People Specialist and staff which feature in their review report.

The Council first achieved Investors in People accreditation in January 2000 and was one of very few councils to achieve the Standard for the organisation as a whole rather than by department (a building block approach).

Since 2000 the Council has maintained their Investors in People status and is now very pleased to have attained the highest level of accreditation – Gold.

Nigel Pearson, Chief Executive said:

“I am very proud we have been accredited as a Gold Investors in People organisation. This is recognition for everyone who makes the Council a good place to work, that achieves its goals whilst valuing the people who make this possible.”

Investors in People Specialist Robin Simpson said:

“I found employees who take pride in their work for the East Riding of Yorkshire Council and who believe in the Council’s approach to saving money by increasing efficiencies, while looking to improve services. In spite of reduced budgets, people feel that the Council has remained true to its values, with the people of the East Riding at the centre of all activity”.
