£240m available to small businesses for training projects
£240m is available for businesses to create their own training programmes under the Employer Ownership Pilot (EOP).
The second round of the pilot, open until March 28, allows businesses to apply for a share of the pot for use in delivering pre-employment training, extension of apprenticeships and training to supply chains.
Speaking at the Glass Academy, a project aimed at inspiring more young people to work in the glass industry, Skills Minister Matthew Hancock urged small companies to consider the fund.
Charlie Mayfield, Chairman of the John Lewis Partnership and the UK Commission for Employment and Skills, which administers the Employer Ownership Pilot added: “This is a major opportunity for responsible and ambitious employers to step up and get the training they need for long-term growth. I would urge businesses of all sizes, across all sectors, to get involved.”
