Dine appointed by UK’s largest stately home

Award-winning weddings, events and venues specialist, Dine of Leeds, has been asked to exclusively plan and run the hospitality and events at the UK’s largest stately home, Wentworth Woodhouse, near the village of Wentworth in South Yorkshire,

It will be the first time the Grade I listed home has formally opened its doors for weddings and events. With Europe’s longest country house façade and 365 rooms, the magnificent building, which is home to architect, Clifford Newbold and his family, has been historically noted for its impressive exterior, luxurious interior and stunning grounds.

The venue is the latest addition to Dine’s portfolio of destinations, which include Nostell Priory; Sarah Beeny’s renovated manor, Rise Hall; The Mansion, in Roundhay Park, Leeds; and Allerton Castle in North Yorkshire. The company organises weddings and private and corporate events from concept to completion.

Daniel Gill, managing director, said: “We are delighted to have been selected as Wentworth Woodhouse’s dedicated events team; it is a truly breathtaking location steeped in history and character. The agreement to launch and manage Wentworth’s events demonstrates a real faith in Dine and the unique experiences we provide our clients.”

“For the Newbolds to open their doors to those planning unique events is a milestone in the house’s history and we look forward to working closely with the family on all upcoming projects. From charity days and local meetings to larger corporate occasions such as product launches and, of course, private parties, weddings and balls, Wentworth’s house and grounds offer beautiful options to suit the needs of anyone planning something special.”

The announcement comes during a time of prolific regeneration for the historic landmark. Having been closed to the general public for over 60 years, Wentworth Woodhouse is now not only a private events destination, but holds regular guided tours and will host the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow later this year.
