Salford firm clinches MediaCityUK cleaning contract
Salford cleaning firm, the Tudor Group, has secured a flagship contract with MediaCityUK.
It means that Tudor will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of glass and exterior surfaces of the buildings around the prestigious 37 acre MediaCityUK site.
The firm, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, has taken on 20 new staff following the deal.
Managing Director Tony Camilleri said: “Tudor’s ethos is to employ good local people; I’ve built my business on it.”
He launched the commercial cleaning business in 1983, starting with his first contact with Manchester’s Portland Hotel, and later winning work with the Midland Hotel and the Radisson.
Within 10 years the business was working with clients nationally.
It currently employs 300 people and has a turnover is £5m.
Mr Camilleri said: “The Peel Group, who own and operate MediaCityUK, share our ethos and choose, wherever possible, to work with local companies so we’re very proud to have won this contract.
“We’ve built some strong relationships across Manchester and Salford which has resulted in us expanding our local teams and creating over 20 new jobs in the last year for people in the area.
We replicate the way we work here in Manchester across other cities by employing local people.“
Mark Robinson, head of Asset Management at MediaCityUK said: “One of the main reasons we chose Tudor was because of their emphasis on using local people on the project, an ethos that The Peel Group shares.”
