Booming builder takes on new staff
A flourishing house builder has taken on extra staff to help it cope with a big rise in demand.
A team of eighteen new recruits have joined Persimmon Homes South Midlands as it continues to see increased demand for new homes across its developments.
Managing Director Richard Oldroyd said the company had enjoyed an excellent start to the year and was now building on that success.
“Nationally we have seen a 15 per cent increase in visitors to our developments and that is a trend reflected across our region. Initiatives such as Help to Buy have brought some real confidence back to the market and reservations across our sites are all up on last year.
“As a result of this growth we have been able to take on talented new staff in a variety of roles, who we are certain will make a long and valuable contribution to the continued success of the business.”
The new recruits include sales advisors Maddi Ettridge and Kirstie Rendle, trainee sales advisor Kimberley McCann, technical co-ordinator Kate Mackenzie, trainee quantity surveyor Fiona Breslin, company architect David Weale, sales management trainee Chloe Simpson and senior quantity surveyor Andy Caddick.
Persimmon Homes South Midlands is delivering quality new homes across Birmingham, Coventry, Malvern, Stratford, Redditch, Rugby, Smethwick, Solihull, Ross on Wye and Worcester.
The company successfully opened 90 new sites across the UK in the first half of this year – including Long Marston, Malvern, Evesham, Solihull and Cofton Hackett. It expects to open a further 85 before the end of the year, with new developments due in Edgbaston, Bidford-on-Avon and Ross on Wye.
Richard added: “We are working terrifically hard to deliver new homes to people across the region. We remain committed to working closely with local communities to deliver excellent new sites in desirable locations, starting construction at these sites as soon as they achieve an implementable detailed planning consent.”
