Sefton’s Plan B off to a flyer
A new organisation set up to support businesses in Sefton has got off to a flying start.
The group, called ‘Plan B’ was formed as a response by businessmen and women across the borough after the collapse of Sefton Chamber of Commerce earlier this month.
Chaired by Jonathan Cunningham MBE, Managing Director of STORM Consultancy, the group’s mission is to provide a mature and credible locally-based forum to support business, commerce and the community.
Mr Cunningham said: “More than 100 businesses came to the launch event ready to get involved and develop their businesses. “It was great to hear from Sefton Council Leader Cllr Peter Dowd and to also see Southport MP John Pugh at the event.
“There is a clear desire from businesspeople from across the borough to get involved in a new organisation which provides not only opportunities for business growth and training but also to give something back to the community. It’s about connecting, inspiring and supporting.
“Plan B is a group which is run by, and for, local businesses. More importantly not for profit. This group isn’t just about making connections; it’s about creating significant opportunities for the business community through outstanding events, business development, lobbying and great support.”
The group’s next events are a Business Breakfast on 29th October at 7am at the Ramada Hotel in Southport and on 12th November, a Plan B Business Women’s Event, at the Metro Hotel in Portland Street at 6pm.
