Advanced Computer Software's Vin Murria named Tech Personality of the Year 2013
Vin Murria, Chief Executive Officer of AIM-listed Advanced Computer Software Group plc (Advanced), has been named Tech Personality of the Year in the UK Tech Awards 2013. Vin was presented with the prestigious award at the London Lancaster Hotel on Wednesday 20th November.
Vin shared the honour with David Braben, CEO of Frontier Developments, who was co-presented with the award. Sponsored by PwC, the annual awards recognise and celebrate achievements in the UK technology sector.
The Tech Personality of the Year Award co-winners were chosen by a 17 strong judging panel made up of industry experts from the UK financial investment community.
The panel selected the winners for demonstrating vision, drive, energy and unswerving commitment to making their companies successful, as well as being the vital ingredient that enabled their businesses to stand head and shoulders above competitors.
Vin Murria, CEO of Advanced Computer Software Group, said: “It is an honour to be named joint winner of the Tech Personality of the Year Award. Advanced has grown from zero to circa £450 market million capitalisation in just five years and I see more growth on the horizon. None of this would have been possible without the dedication and drive of the Advanced team.”
Jass Sarai, UK technology leader at PwC, said: “I would like to congratulate all the award winners. Developing an innovative product or service is not enough to secure and maintain a leadership position in today’s market. Technology companies need to think beyond technology enhancement and focus on breakthrough innovations which will truly disrupt and shift the playing field in their favour.
“Companies must have an innovation strategy, which separates them from the competition and makes them stand out from the crowd.”
Advanced Computer Software Group plc is a leading supplier of software and IT services to both public and private sectors, which help organisations to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
