New Northern leader for PwC
Multinational auditors PwC have promoted a new leader for their North East and Yorkshire regions.
Ian Morrison is now leading more than 1,000 partners and staff across PwC’s Newcastle, Hull, Leeds and Sheffield bases.
The Oxford University graduate has worked for PwC since 1992, predominantly in Yorkshire, but also on secondment in Australia.
For the last five years Ian has led the firm’s assurance team across the North, which comprises 750 partners and staff in six offices.
Mr Morrison said: “It is an exciting time to be taking on this role, particularly as the Newcastle office itself goes through an exciting period of change with the appointment of Bill MacLeod to office senior partner and moving to its new premises from March. I look forward to supporting this transition and helping to continue the growth the office has seen over recent years.
“The North East is an active and diverse market place. I aim to play a key role in leading our team as we continue to help our clients achieve their objectives, grow and support the wider economic recovery.”
Stephanie Hyde, executive board member and PwC’s head of UK regions said: “Ian Green has done a great job as regional leader over the last 18 months. We see considerable growth opportunities in Yorkshire and the North East, and under Ian Morrison’s leadership the region will continue to be an area of focus and investment for the firm.”
Ian will work closely with our office senior partners across the region, Bill Macleod in Newcastle, Arif Ahmad in Leeds, Andy Ward in Sheffield and Richard Bunter in Hull.
