SLR Consulting acquire Alaskan environmental firm
Environmental consultancy SLR, which operates an office on Newcastle quayside, has acquired Alaskan business Haas Consulting (HCL).
The deal, for an undisclosed amount, will bring HCL’s sevices to the oil and gas sector, under the SLR wing.
HCL owner and founder, Lisa Haas, started the firm in 1999 in Achorage, Alaska, and has since grown the firm to provide consulting services throughout the world.
Lisa, who joins SLR as director, North America Oil and Gas and global lead in compliance and management systems, said: “I am excited to be part of SLR’s high quality, innovative team and look forward to working across the company to enhance its oil and gas services.
“I am also pleased to have access to SLR resources for ongoing projects.”
SLR’s CEO, Neil Penhall, added: “The acquisition of HCL further strengthens our global position in the energy sector and it is another step in allowing us to expand our service offerings to clients in support of their business interests throughout the world.”
SLR’s acquisition of HCL is the company’s second such deal confirmed in 2014 following the acquisition of North American acoustics firm HFP Acoustical Consultants, which has offices in Houston, Texas, and Calgary in Canada, in February.
