Doncaster RLFC signs shirt sponsorship deal with Thorne motor group
Doncaster RLFC has secured a one-year shirt sponsorship deal with Stoneacre Motor Group.
The Thorne-based company becomes an associate sponsor of the rugby league side with their logo on the back of the club’s shirt for the 2014 season.
Stoneacre is already a sponsor of Doncaster Rovers, a successful partnership which has been running for the last five years. The new deal is an example of a strategic alliance between both clubs after Rovers purchased Doncaster RLFC in 2013.
Carl Hall, chief executive of Doncaster RLFC, said: “We are delighted to have Stoneacre on board with the club. They are a local company and have been very supportive of sport in Doncaster over recent years, so we look forward to working with them over the coming months.
“There will be a number of exciting developments through Stoneacre which will provide opportunities for our supporters to benefit from.”
Shaun Foweather, managing director at Stoneacre, added: “Doncaster RLFC is a fantastic club which has great ambitions for success this season. This sponsorship is a great tie-in with our existing support for Rovers and the local community.
“We have been sponsors of Rovers for a number of years now and it has been fantastically successful. It has increased awareness of the Stoneacre brand around the town significantly and we are looking forward to this being extended further with Doncaster RLFC.”
Andrew Whitham, head of commercial at Doncaster Rovers, says: “While Stoneacre is a national company with locations all over the country, it recognises Doncaster as its home town.
“This sponsorship is a continuation of the support it has provided, not only to sport, but to the local community.”
