Cairn Group open £1 million restaurant concept in Jesmond
Newcastle-based hospitality firm The Cairn Group are set to open a new restaurant in Jesmond this week, following investment of £1 million.
The Group’s 85 cover ‘Sohe’ restaurant will serve contemporary Asian cuisine and features open plan kitchens, allowing diners a view of head chef Martin Moore and his team at work.
Launching on May 1 at 97-103 Osborne Road the restaurant boasts strong design features and will host a private dining space for up to 12 people.
General manager Sarah Harker said: “To us dining isn’t just about a plate of incredible food; the overall restaurant experience has become more and more important in recent years.
“It’s not just the food that must reflect our vision and our ‘vibe’, but everything that surrounds our diners too. From the bar to the chairs and the walls to the lighting, everything at Sohe has been specially created and that takes time.”
Martin Moore has a background in 5* hotels and brings with him more than 14 years experience as he interprets Asian street food for Sohe’s menu.
He said: “The cuisine at Sohe pushes the boundaries and goes beyond everything I have ever created. I am introducing new preparations and new ingredients.
“It’ll be a fusion of the senses through taste, touch and smell with a large measure of North East spirit to create a high energy, sophisticated, yet impressive dining experience.”
