Calling all female entrepreneurs...
The Search is on to find Britain’s Top Real Role Model
Do you have a fledgling business idea, but need a helping hand? Do you think you could following in the footsteps of app-reneur Stuart Maitland who last year helped put Newcastle on the business map? The world’s leading direct-selling company, Amway UK has launched its annual competition to find Britain’s Top Real Role Model (BTRRM), which is dedicated to finding new talent among the nation’s entrepreneurs and awarding the winner £5,000. This year the focus is Women in Enterprise, with acclaimed fashion designer Savannah Miller heading up the judging panel.
Through the BTRRM initiative, Amway UK has to date awarded three fledging UK businesses with a much-needed cash injection: Jill Carter for her social initiative Pulp Friction Travelling Kitchen and medical student and app-reneur Stuart Maitland for UniWikis (a collaborative medical education website and mobile app), social enterprise entrepreneur Melanie Bryan (OBE) for her work with charities and communities. This year, the company hopes to drive British enterprise to new heights of success, and the winner could be you!
Nominations for BTRRM are now open and close on 11th August 2014. Successful shortlisted applicants will be asked to submit a brief business plan and the winner - announced in September 2014 - will be awarded £5,000 to aid their business venture.
