Top accolades for Sodexo Prestige at St James’ Park
A team at one of the North East’s top sporting venues is celebrating after being officially named among the UK’s best.
Sodexo Prestige, which works in partnership with NUFC to provide catering, hospitality and banqueting at St James’ Park, claimed two accolades at the prestigious Stadium Events and Hospitality Awards 2014, including Matchday Hospitality for large stadiums (over 40,000 seats).
The team’s conference and banqueting sales co-ordinator, Elisha Lindsay, also beat off stiff competition from across the UK to receive the individual Star for the Future Award, judged by a panel of award sponsors and a committee from the Stadium Experience Awards, which organises the event.
The Stadium Events and Hospitality Awards, held for 2014 at the KC Stadium, Hull, are designed to recognise and reward the efforts and dedication of the catering, conference and events teams at every football and rugby stadium in the UK.
There were nine awards up for grabs in total this year, with silver and bronze prizes awarded alongside the winner for each.
Sodexo Prestige, which services venues around the UK, walked away with 11 accolades in total, with the team at NUFC also claiming second place in both the Overall Matchday Hospitality and the Conference and Events Sales and Marketing categories.
Samantha Doyle, area sales manager at Sodexo Prestige, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have had our efforts recognised in such a remarkable way at the 10th annual Stadium Events and Hospitality Awards. I would like to congratulate all of the team at Sodexo Prestige and NUFC, particularly Elisha, who was deservedly singled-out as one to watch.”
