Seatwave brings live music discovery to fans with UK launch of gig app Timbre
The Seatwave Group, owner of leading ticket marketplace Seatwave, today announced its expansion into mobile live music discovery with the acquisition and UK launch of concert listing and booking app Timbre.
Timbre helps fans find gigs and listen to artists before they buy tickets. Crucially, fans using the Timbre app will be able to buy tickets directly from venues and primary ticket sellers, as well as tickets to sold-out gigs via Seatwave.
Timbre boasts the UK’s largest live music database, with on average 18,000 gigs listed at any one time, enabling music lovers to discover new bands as well as be the first to hear about tours from leading artists.
Ajay Chowdhury, CEO of Seatwave Group, said: “With Timbre we want to help music fans to go to more gigs and create more live music memories. The Timbre app offers the whole package from browsing gigs, to playing tracks and purchasing tickets from multiple sources. By using Timbre, fans will have the UK’s most comprehensive live music listings at their fingertips, removing the hassle from planning a night out. This the first of a wave of new mobile products that we plan to launch.”
Seatwave acquired Timbre from Boston-based agency Intrepid Pursuits in February this year and revamped the app to incorporate UK music gigs and a choice of ticket options.
The new Timbre app, which is available on IOS, enables music fans to:
Browse the most comprehensive gig listings by date, location, artist and venue and buy tickets easily Choose between primary ticket vendors, venue box office and sold-out tickets via Seatwave Be the first to know about new tour dates for favourite bands by linking with iTunes and Spotify accounts. Discover new bands by listening to tracks in app before going to see them live Use integrated maps to find gigs near them
