Pelican scoops top industry digital award
Pelican Communications is celebrating after winning a top industry award and being short-listed for three more.
The Oldham-based integrated communications consultancy scooped the award for Best Digital & Social Media Strategy at the PRCA Dare Awards 2014. The national awards recognise best practice in public relations.
The accolade is in recognition of the consultancy’s campaign for British Frozen Food Federation which has included the development of a new Cool Cookery website, smartphone app, blogger relations and social media campaign to encourage more people to buy frozen food.
Rachel Ferguson of Pelican’s specialist food and drink team said: “Our campaign has played a significant role in encouraging more people to buy frozen food as well as getting celebrity chefs to advocate the benefits of frozen. It’s really satisfying to see our work recognised.”
In addition Pelican has been short-listed for three of the Manchester Publicity Association’s Inspiration Awards in the Best Innovation, Big Bang and Agency of the Year categories.
Pelican’s managing director Michael Bennett said: “As a business we are growing faster than ever and we feel we are doing some brilliant work. For that to be recognised by respected industry peers is a great recognition for everyone at Pelican.”
Winners of the Inspiration Awards will be announced in September.
