Sheffield’s Meadowhall on recruitment drive

Meadowhall Shopping Centre based in Sheffield, Yorkshire, has announced its latest recruitment drive as the Centre looks to bring in new staff to meet demand.

Several new, permanent security officers; recycling operatives; customer service personnel; cleaners and part time Christmas staff are wanted.

The shopping Centre which welcomes over 25 million shoppers a year provides over 8,500 jobs during the Christmas peak season.

Recently, the Government announced that UK employment had fallen by 121,000 in the three months to May 2014.

Commenting on the vacancies that Yorkshire’s regional shopping centre is looking to fill, Meadowhall’s Centre Director Darren Pearce, said: “Getting people into work is crucial to any local economy.

“Here at Meadowhall we are very proud to offer thousands of jobs to local people and we are currently looking to build on that number, bringing in further talent and resource to the Meadowhall team.

“Recent figures from the Office of National Statistics indicate that the Yorkshire and Humber region has experienced a decrease in unemployment, in line with the rest of the UK, which is great news – and long may that continue.”

Meadowhall, one of the region’s top shopping centres, is host to a variety of stores including Victoria’s Secret, Pretty Green and Ted Baker.

The centre is open seven days a week and has a variety of transport links. It has an impressive range of eateries including restaurants, bars and cafes alongside its family friendly facilities such as the cinema and crèche area.
