Two Yorkshire firms appear on list of Britain's fastest growing tech businesses
Two Yorkshire firms have ranked in the Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 league table, which lists Britain’s fastest growing businesses in the technology sector.
Harrogate-based financial software developer Nostrum Group is a new entrant to the list, ranking highest for the region at 67th with 54% annual sales growth for the last three years.
Leeds company The Test People, which tests websites before they go live, appears for a second year, ranking at 81 in this year’s list, with 46% annual sales growth over the last three years.
The Tech Track 100 league table and awards programme is sponsored by Hiscox, Barclays, BDO and Business Growth Fund and compiled by Fast Track, the Oxford-based research and networking events firm.
This year’s Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 companies achieved, on average, sales growth of 79% a year over the last three years of accounts.
The listed firms grew their workforce to almost 14k, having added more than 10k jobs over the period.
Steve Langan, managing director of Hiscox UK and Europe, the title sponsor of the league table, commented: “It takes a number of qualities to be recognised as a Tech Track 100 business. Having well defined company values, a focus on nurturing talent and achieving customer satisfaction, and an eye on future-proofing your business are all important attributes. Many former Tech Track 100 companies have gone on to become stand-out successes, and this year’s listing is equally exciting. Every single one of these businesses is contributing to the UK economy, and that should give us all confidence that Britain’s tech scene is in rude health”
