£500k investment in Leeds hotel refurbishment results in record occupancy

Leeds-based Best Western Plus Milford Hotel has hit record occupancy levels with 21% rise in annual room sales over the last year and 50% growth in room sales over the last 5 years.

Overall business growth has risen by 14% year on year.

This follows a £500k investment last year as well as a five-figure programme of refurbishment at the hotel’s The Watermill Restaurant

This refurb includes new tables, chairs, improved layout and refreshed décor and boasts 3 private dining rooms.

The privately owned 44-bedroom 3 star hotel, situated off the A1(M) J42 near Selby, has also appointed a new chef de partie to its expanding catering team at its new-look restaurant, Brazilian-born Rafael Da Silva, 37.

Commenting on his appointment, Rafael said: “I am delighted to be working alongside such a talented team and I look forward to introducing my own ideas. I’m an experimental chef and I have a passion for patisseries so I’m keen to influence our dessert menu and you never know I might even bring a taste of home to Leeds!”

Commenting on the hotel’s success, Shaun Sleath said ’It is refreshing to see that the Leeds hotel and hospitality industry is now buoyant.

“We have experienced exceptional growth in occupancy levels and are delighted to see our continuous investment in the property, coupled with excellent customer service and a great team, now reaping rewards.

“We pride ourselves in offering a first class hotel stay with personality and continue to improve the hotel experience for our guests.

“It’s heartening to know that this growth coincides with our 20th trading milestone and our hard work is seeing results.’
