The North Face and Timberland join forces to open Guildford lifestyle store
Outdoor brands The North Face and Timberland have joined forces to open a new lifestyle clothing store in Constitutional Hall, Surrey.
Originally a public meeting house, then West’s Picture Palace (Guildford’s first cinema), the store’s slimline frontage extends way back to house the brand new Timberland collection, opening into a massive vaulted space housing the North Face collection.
The store is the brainchild of Luke Underhill and Kiwi James Pascoe, who helped build Crew Clothing into a major retail success story.
They then sold and set up SeventyThree Retail in 2010. In just four years it already has a superb track record of operating franchise partnerships for Timberland in such well-heeled English towns as Cambridge, Tunbridge Wells and Windsor.
Guildford is the eighth – and more are in the pipeline. The company is also exclusive franchise partner across the UK for Havaianas, the iconic and original Brazilian flip-flop.
Underhill said: “Because of the Constitutional Hall’s space and wow factor, James and I are dying to utilise it for regular, really amazing events for people who live, work in or visit Guildford. We’d like to welcome them in to do so much more than shop.
“For instance, we’re looking at such potential activities as extreme sports films shown on big screens; Saturday morning kids’ film club and avalanche safety lectures.
“And before that? Keep your eyes peeled in and around Guildford over the next few weeks for some pretty eye-catching Timberland® and North Face® activity!”
