North East technology firm expanding into Scotland
Tyneside technology business Synergi IT is recruiting to launch an expansion drive into Scotland.
Business wins since January 2014 means Gateshead-based Synergi is well on target to achieving sales of half a million pounds in year one, with a targeted £2 million within three years.
Recruitment of support staff is well underway; while Synergi is a new force in the region, Peter Joynson and his team have more than 20 years industry and technical knowledge and are well known around the North East.
Rod Fraser, from Glasgow, joins the growing IT team in Gateshead to spearhead a new Scottish expansion.
Rod joins Synergi’s growing SharePoint division and will work closely with director Justin Short to secure new business in Scotland.
This division was recently established to focus on Microsoft SharePoint services. First launched in 2001, SharePoint is a powerful business tool that integrates intranet, content management and document management.
Once the domain of big business, recent versions are more accessible to SMEs and have broader, more flexible capabilities particularly through the Office 365 platform.
Rod, a Microsoft solutions consultant with more than 20 years technical experience, has worked with Justin in the past and has a wealth of product and market understanding north of the border.
Sectors of particular expertise and which will be targeted include oil and gas, transport, renewables and local government.
Rod said: “I’m delighted to join Synergi and pleased to be working with Justin again at an exciting period in the company’s growth.
“It is particularly thrilling to be spearheading the drive into Scotland which is also going through an exciting time, both politically and economically.”
Justin Short said: “Many companies north and south of the Borders have legacy versions of SharePoint that need bringing up to date while lots of small businesses are being introduced to the software via Microsoft’s Office 365.
“We see Scotland as an exciting market for the continued growth at Synergi.”
