40 jobs lost as Manchester’s Kro Piccadilly closes
Kro Piccadilly has closed with the loss of 40 bar and restaurant workers.
Customers and regulars noticed that the bar and restaurant was closed on Tuesday.
The chain’s Heaton Moor and Oxford Road branches remain open.
Ruby and Ruby Limited, owned the three Kro Bar venues with Mr Ruby as director.
The company had a meeting of creditors last october and then went into liquidation last year.
Their website is down with the message “We are currently upgrading our site, please check back again soon.”
Mr Ruby said: “Most people are very upset. It’s been nearly 10 years so it’s pretty tough.
“A lot of the regulars are upset and obviously the staff are, particularly.
“It’s not a particularly nice situation to be in. Hopefully the staff will get themselves jobs quickly and we’ll soldier on, it’s all we can do,” according to the Manchester Evening News.
