Newcastle realtor lets factory to expanding patio business

Commercial property specialist HTA Real Estate has let a North Tyneside factory to an expanding paving and patio business on behalf of its previous occupiers.

Nationwide Installation Group, which trades as Northern Resin Flooring, is taking over the lease on the 6991sq ft factory on the Algernon Industrial Estate in Shiremoor from G4S Risk Management. G4S is the parent company of the previous occupant, Shiremoor International Engineering.

Northern Resin Flooring installs resin bound and bonded driveways, patios and footpaths for clients across the North East.

The new property consists of a semi-detached manufacturing/warehouse building with offices and a shared yard, plus a mezzanine storage area, craneage facilities.

The size of the site means Northern Resin Flooring has been able to create a showroom to showcase its products to clients.

Russell Taylor from Newcastle-based HTA Real Estate said: “We were instructed by G4S Risk Management to find a suitable new tenant for the site.

“The property has excellent facilities and connectivity and will provide Northern Resin Flooring with further room for growth. The company’s expansion and need for larger premises is a strong signal of the economic recovery and the returning confidence in the region.”

Northern Resin Flooring founder, Carl Birkenshaw, said: “Due to our growth, we needed bigger premises and the Algernon Industrial Estate was the ideal location for us.

“The nature of our business means we had a number of requirements for our new property and the site was a great match.

“We were looking for a site that was easily accessible where we had space to create a new showroom to show off our products. The great position of the factory, close to the A19 and the Coast Road, also means it has the good transport links we were looking for.”

The new showroom for members of the public and commercial clients planning paving, patio or driveway projects is now open.

Northern Resin Flooring works across Tyne and Wear, Cumbria and Teesside. The group is currently working on a major commercial flooring contract with Northgate Hospital in Morpeth and also provides driveway installation services for domestic customers.
