City West re-accredited for income management
City West Housing Trust has become the first organisation in the country to be re-accredited by the Housing Quality Network (HQN) for continued best practice in income management.
The North West based landlord was first awarded the accreditation in 2011 for the first class service provided to its customers in an increasingly challenging financial environment.
The award lasts for three years with an annual revisit by the HQN to check on the progress of recommendations and improvement of the service.
The re-accreditation follows a rigorous scrutiny process by the HQN, specifically designed to assess how well City West manages its income streams and supports its customers with their finances.
City West’s money advice service provides customers with a range of financial support services, including sharing the latest information on Welfare Reform to help customers to manage their income.
In 2013/14 City West’s customers received £300,000 in extra income as a result of the help and advice from their landlord.
Justin Freeman, Head of Income Management at City West, said: “To be the first organisation to be re-accredited is a fantastic achievement. The panel was particularly impressed with the continued improvements we have made since our original accreditation.
“At a time when the financial pressures on our customers are increasing, it’s vital we ensure that the support we deliver is of the highest quality and value for money.
“This recognition of our income management service is testament to the hard work and dedication of staff across the business. Along with very high levels of customer satisfaction, it demonstrates that City West operates an excellent, efficient and effective, service to our customers.”
