Kent's Royal Wells Hotel set for £2.4 million redevelopment
Royal Wells Hotel in Mount Ephraim is to undergo a £2.4 million transformation.
According to Kent Online, the hotel, which was bought by Shepherd Neame brewery in September 2012, will be transformed with the addition of a new restaurant and outdoor space.
The construction is expected to take 15 weeks, and the new restaurant will accommodate up to 70 people.
A large courtyard garden is also being created outside, with seating for up to 52 people.
The work is expected to be complete in April, when the hotel will reopen.
Shepherd Neame chief executive Jonathan Neame said: “The Royal Wells Hotel is a building of great character which has a fascinating history.
“Our planned redevelopment project will ensure that the hotel’s heritage is preserved, while introducing the latest contemporary facilities to ensure it remains one of the town’s most popular destinations.”
