British Airways increases daily service between Dublin and London City Airport
British Airways has added a sixth daily service between Dublin and London City airport.
The extra service, which will run for the month of June and resume permanently from September, will depart from London City at 2.40pm with the return flight leaving Dublin at 5.15pm.
The announcement comes six months after British Airways launched its Dublin to London City route.
Luke Hayhoe, British Airways’ commercial general manager at London City airport said: “We are very pleased with our customers’ response to this important new route and delighted to have the opportunity to add an extra frequency so soon giving customers more choice and flexibility,”
The news comes just weeks after multi-million plans to redevelop London City Airport were vetoed by Mayor Boris Johnson, who argued that a new airport east of the city would be preferable. Last month, a spokesman today said: “The mayor has long argued that Heathrow Airport cannot be expanded due to the increased noise it would lead to in west London and he is not willing to expose east London to additional noise either.”
