Curzon seeks planning permission for major cinema development in Tunbridge Wells
Curzon has submitted a planning application for a new cinema at The Pantiles, a shopping area in Royal Tunbridge Wells.
The cinema chain, which specialises in art-house films, currently has 18 outlets across the country with its project being Bloomsbury’s famous Renoir cinema in London, which opened its doors last month.
The new development, which would be the largest of Curzon’s cinemas, will include the regeneration of the whole Lower Pantiles area.
Mel Alcock, Curzon Chief Operating Officer told Kent Online: “We are delighted to be working with The Pantiles to bring a new Curzon cinema to Tunbridge Wells, an area of culture, history and natural beauty.
“Building on successful recent Curzon cinema launches in Sheffield, Canterbury and Bloomsbury London, we look forward to Curzon serving the local community with our acclaimed programme of films and events.”
If the plan are given the green light, Curzon are hoping to open in Summer 2016.
