Nine jobs created as Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct opens new store in Birchwood
Sports retailer Sports Direct, has opened a new store in Warrington’s Birchwood Shopping Centre.
At least nine jobs have been created with the new store.
The 4,500 sq ft store showcases the latest brands and also includes dedicated in-store areas for running, outdoor, football, golf and much more.
A spokesperson for SportsDirect.com said: “We are delighted to have opened our new store in Birchwood.
“As we continue to grow throughout the UK, our ethos has never changed in that we offer our customers the biggest brands in all types of sportswear, footwear and sports equipment at low prices.”
Sports Direct has over 400 stores nationwide, and has been in the news last year with regards to its staff bonus scheme.
Owner Mike Ashley has been in the news often and most recently for having not enough check on his power with Parliament raising questions.
