Dover Street Market to expand in London despite profit dip
Upmarket Mayfair outlet Dover Street Market has announced plans to expand in London after reporting slightly-dipped sales of £13.2m last year.
The innovative retail store, which plays host to several premium brands, has announced it is on track to meet its financial targets and, despite falling sales and profits, its vice president, Dickon Bowden, told the Evening Standard that the retailer would be expanding in London very soon.
He said: “We look forward to continuing our expansion when we move to our new London store on The Haymarket later this year or early next year, which is three times larger than the existing premises.”
The firm saw profits dip in the year ending 31st May, following significant expansion in Tokyo and New York. The retailer, which is the brainchild of Japanese fashion entrepreneur Rei Kawakubo, will move into property owned by Lord Sugar’s Amsprop Estates
