County Durham Housing Group, established following the transfer of ownership and management of Durham County Council’s former 18,500 homes, have taken occupancy at Spectrum Business Park.
The organisation, which officially launched on 13 April 2015, moved to the new office space in Seaham with 45 members of staff who have transferred from the council, Dale & Valley Homes and East Durham Homes.
Occupying the entire first floor of Spectrum 6, totalling 14,000sqft, the group are now able to expand, with a view to hire 120 members of staff over the next 18 months.
Jill Ancrum, Communications and Engagement Officer at County Durham Housing Group, said: “We considered 12 potential premises across the county that offered room for expansion, adequate car parking facilities and access to local amenities.
“Following an appraisal of all the options, the board agreed that Spectrum Business Park was the best solution.”
County Durham Housing Group Director of Performance and Business Development, Marie Roe, added: “Spectrum Business Park gives us a modern and fresh identity. In order for us to develop we needed a space that was flexible and allowed room for growth.”
