NHS and Leeds council strike multi-million pound deal for Merrion Centre health clinic
The owner of Leeds’ Merrion Centre, Town Centre Securities PLC (TCS), has completed a multi-million pound deal with NHS Trust in the city to provide a 7,000 sq ft health clinic.
This new innovative health clinic will enable the NHS and Leeds City Council to carry out their pledge to bring a more efficient and integrated health service to the people of Leeds.
The facility expects to see approximately 45,000 users every year and is set to open at the Merrion Centre this autumn.
The location of the Merrion Centre is ideal to house a health facility as it is near ample parking and bus stops as well as pharmacists Boots and Superdrug, which will ensure a convenient and efficient service for customers across the region.
The Merrion Centre, which consists of 100 shops, cafés and restaurants as well as office and leisure accommodation, has always been a mixed-use scheme and this is another example of the wide range of services and use of the Centre.
Edward Ziff, chairman and chief executive at TCS said: “We are very pleased that the NHS Trust in Leeds has chosen the Merrion Centre as the site for its new health centre. We believe it will be a significant benefit for the local community.
