Sheffield online estate agency launches crowdfunding campaign to boost growth
To maintain the significant growth already made in 2015, a Yorkshire online estate agency has just launched a major crowdfunding campaign.
Establied by property finance expert Adam Sutherland in 2011, MyHouseAdvert.co.uk has sold over 850 properties across the country worth more than £150m.
The Sheffield-based company is now seeking £100k of investment for a 10% equity stake via the crowdfunding website Crowdcube.com.
The company hopes to generate funding for a marketing and advertising campaign to further raise its profile.
MyHouseAdvert, which is the only pay-monthly nationwide estate agent, offers house sellers a full estate agency service for £69.95 a month, reducing to just £39.95 after just three months, with no commission on sale.
The fees charged include a listing on all the leading property websites including Rightmove, Zoopla and Primelocation.
As an average sale usually takes three to four months to complete, clients are saving between £2.5k to £3k – and the penny is starting to drop with growing numbers of house sellers.
Adam, the company’s founder, said: “This is an exciting time for MyHouseAdvert.co.uk and we see huge potential for growth. We get such fantastic feedback from everyone who use us and we want to tell more people about the unique offer we have in the market.
“We’ve just sold a client’s house in Fulwood, Sheffield for £690k. The client paid us just £359.75, a potential saving of over £10k compared to a traditional estate agent’s 1.5% + VAT commission.’
He added :“We’ve focussed on creating a flexible, transparent and honest business model that also gives people more control in the house selling process. Users can just test out the market for a month with no commitment, pay monthly or through a one-off fee of £369.95 for nine months service.”
