Covering the principles and practice of project management, this qualification provides learners with the knowledge and competence equivalent to a first year degree.
This qualifications are suitable for:
- Learners wishing to embark on a career as a project management professional
- Learners wishing to develop key competences that form the basis of a successful career in the profession
- Apprentices working towards further professional development through the Association for Project Management (APM) professional qualification schemes.
Overview:
- Principles of project management, these principles are common to projects regardless of whether the projects are undertaken in different sectors or whether they differ in scale and/or complexity.
- Practice of project management, the practice of project management requires application in work environments of the principles addressed by the unit described above. The practice of project management is addressed in the qualification by ten units that each address a different project management function, such as stakeholder management, communications management, scope management, schedule management, etc.
- Leadership and delegation, the requirements for leadership and delegation can be the same in project management as in more general management. These requirements are covered by two units that are shared with general management qualifications.
