Rumi by Bukhara celebrates National Curry Week
In celebration of National Curry Week, Rumi by Bukhara has added a special signature dish to its menu that plays homage to the city of Liverpool.
The Mount Pleasant restaurant is serving up a traditional Indian curry inspired by Liverpool’s most famous classic dish - Scouse.
Director of Rumi by Bukhara Faisal Patel said: “We are extremely excited to celebrate National Curry Week as the dish is of course one of our specialities. We wanted to devise something that would appeal to all of our customers around the city and to create something truly unique; the dish we have come up with is certainly inimitable.
“The idea of the meal was to work with something that’s symbolic to the city, but with a very traditional Indian culinary twist by devising a specially concocted curry rather than the usual stew stock. Based on the established Karhai recipe, it’s packed with British flavour, spice and aromas, creating a fragrant and indulgent overall taste using lamb, potatoes, onions, carrots, peas and tomatoes with fresh homemade Naan bread on the side for dipping.”
Popular with families and students alike, Rumi by Bukhara serves Indian and Mughlai cuisine, specialising in curries including Tikkas, Tandooris and Biryanis. The restaurant also makes its own 16 flavours of gelato on site, which is a typical Indian eatery tradition. Rumi has recently topped the list of restaurants in Merseyside in the dessert category on the online review website TripAdvisor.
Faisal added: “We are looking forward to welcoming both new and familiar faces to try our eccentric new offering and as it is available for one week only, we are urging guests to visit us and tickle their taste buds with a special curry with a twist.”
