Turtle Bay to open first of two Liverpool restaurants in November
Caribbean restaurant chain Turtle Bay is due to open its first Liverpool eatery next month, creating 60 new jobs in the city.
The venue will take up 3,500 sq ft in the Produce Exchange, a grade II-listed building on Victoria Street in the centre of Liverpool.
The company is investing £800k into the new restaurant, which will be able to seat 140 people.
Turtle Bay’s founder and director, Ajith Jayawickrema, said: “We’ve been looking at Liverpool as a destination for some time, it’s an exciting period of growth for the city, especially its vibrant culinary scene.
“There was no question as to whether or not we would open here, it was about finding the right space.”
He added: “Now that we have, we can’t wait to introduce Liverpool to Turtle Bay’s unique take on Caribbean cuisine.”
The restaurant’s management team is still recruiting for floor staff.
Turtle Bay on Victoria Street is due to open on November 13, with a second restaurant scheduled for Liverpool ONE in early 2016.
