Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino won’t sell until 2016
In the latest reports coming from Elland Road, Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has now decided not to sell his majority stake in the club this year.
The comes after weeks of uncertainty about the future of Italian businessman, who previously expressed interest in selling Leedsfollowing a 2-0 home defeat to blackburn Rovers at the end of last month.
At the time he called his tenure at the Championship club a “nightmare” and described feeling “shame” everytime Leeds loses a game.
However, less than a week after telling supporters group Leeds Fans Utd (LFU) that they can buy his controlling interest in the club, Cellino had a sudden change of heart.
Ever since, there has been ongoing speculation as to whether the controversial owner will actually sell the club, but according to Sky Sports News HQ, Cellino “doesn’t consider any of the potential Leeds buyers as serious” and will wait until next year to sell.
Cellino, who is currently fighting a second ban for failing the Football League’s owners and directors’ test, has dismissed a total of five managers since taking over Leeds in April 2014.
