Driver Hire expands Yorkshire presence with new Barnsley office
Driver Hire, the transport and logistics recruitment specialist, has recruited two new franchisees for offices in Yorkshire.
The company, which already has 103 offices across the UK, has added to its network with the sale of a greenfield site in Barnsley.
The new owners, Helen and Stuart Ward, are moving 190 miles from Bristol to Barnsley to start their new business.
Stuart said: “We looked at a number of options, some of which were much closer to home. However, we felt that Barnsley had a lot to offer, both in terms of business potential and value for money in the local housing market.”
In addition, Driver Hire’s office in York has also undergone a management change. The new franchisee is Carrie Ann Donohue, who has worked for the business over the last ten years.
Carrie Ann, who worked for the previous franchisee, David Poole, is joined in her new venture by a business partner Dianna Bamforth.
Graham Duckworth, Driver Hire’s franchise sales director, added: “Our overall business success is resulting in high levels of both enquiries and sales. That’s hardly surprising. On current trading, the average full year turnover for a Driver Hire franchisee is over £1m. (UK franchise industry average is £356,000 per unit.) So we have a brilliant product to sell.”
